PLAN:
-Stretch: setting her posture up and getting her energized to sing.
-How is your voice today?
-Vocalize: making sure not to do them for too long, being aware of her posture and not letting her slump over, working on freedom and space in her sound
-Work on music: keeping her energy up, posture alert and sound free
GOALS:
Short-
1. I noticed when I listened to the recording of my last lesson that when I tell Kathy to connect her phrasing more she scoops and pushes into the next note. I want to do some staccato exercises with her, to help her eliminate that and to make the pitches more accurate.
2. Her posture is tense and often slumped over. I really need to be more
aggressive about stopping her when I see this. I want to be able to get
her to a place where she can feel energized and released to sing. Mostly I think I just need to stop her and remind her a lot about the posture!
Long-
1. I want to help Kathy find freedom in her voice. There is a lot of
tension that I see and hear. I think I need to do some basic light
exercises to help her find that freedom in her voice and know what it
feels like.
