Lesson Plan 2.20.14
At our last lesson, Gavin mentioned that he would like some
actual music to sing, and so I figured I could try a Quilter song, “Now Sleeps
the Crimson Petal.” I’m taking it
from the Quilter 55 songs low key book, because it will just peek up above his
break a couple of times, but not too much. But if we’re gonna be honest with ourselves, I’m really just
picking a song that can’t do any harm and that I sort of know. I don’t know what the flip I’m doing.
Short term goals –
1. To help him become aware of his extraneous movement while
singing
2. To help him be more aware of scooping
Long term goal – Help
him sing with line and legato.
- I hope that having him look at himself in the mirror will
assist in the extraneous movement.
- I also want to ask him more to self-evaluate exercises so he
can become more self-aware.
