Elizabeth T Gavin N Lesson Plan 2.20.14

Lesson Plan 2.20.14
At our last lesson, Gavin mentioned that he would like some actual music to sing, and so I figured I could try a Quilter song, “Now Sleeps the Crimson Petal.”  I’m taking it from the Quilter 55 songs low key book, because it will just peek up above his break a couple of times, but not too much.  But if we’re gonna be honest with ourselves, I’m really just picking a song that can’t do any harm and that I sort of know.  I don’t know what the flip I’m doing.
Short term goals
1. To help him become aware of his extraneous movement while singing
2. To help him be more aware of scooping
Long term goal – Help him sing with line and legato.
- I hope that having him look at himself in the mirror will assist in the extraneous movement.
- I also want to ask him more to self-evaluate exercises so he can become more self-aware.
