Amber – My lesson 2-7-2014
The usual Shoooo swoop down the octave was the favorite exercise today. Then, “M, N, NG Ahh...) down a five tone scale.
Last, a top note empty descending scale.
I am still having issues with “Moegentau”. It is so exposed and deceptively easy,... maybe too easy. We tried several different approaches, ranging from onset arm and hand motions to lip trilling through the phrases, then singing them. We used the same approach with the Ave Maria that I am hacing similar issues on. With the Ave Maria, we did an exercise of crossing over the right hand to the left knee ans vise verse while lip trilling through to get me to release ….. everything (sigh,...)
Take aways! I have to get out of my own way and just sing... stop tying to be [perfect and just let it happen...think, trust, let, etc. I will be lip trilling through most of my music this week. .. and doing crossover exercises a bit more (left hand to right knee then switch.)
