Taylee - ch9 DYV

Summary: If we hope to become technically sound singers as well as good teachers, we must understand the aspects of how the voice grows and matures. The big obvious one, everyone is different! Therefore we must use our knowledge to our best abilities to address the individual. I'm currently on the younger end of the singer spectrum, but someday I will be the teacher who is much older than my students, and I'll need to remember that they are young and have a lot of differences from my voice. Sure there are inevitable similarities but the differences are key in catering to the individual.
Key Terms:___
Key Concepts: Each voice is unique, therefore each voice needs to be treated differently.
Making Connections: It's hard not to get discouraged when I listen to Brianna demonstrate something in my song and it seems so easy and effortless for her. I then remind myself that she was once in my shoes. I really appreciate it when she gives me personal examples of what she used to do. It makes me feel like I'm not all alone in this, and that getting to where she is at isn't impossible at all. As I start teaching more, I need to remember to give my students that reminder.
