Elizabeth Tait Lesson w/ Thomas Glenn part 2

Thomas is great!  The two themes of this lesson seemed to be creating a rounder sound up high, and creating a better sense of line.  Looking back, it seems that all the exercises we did, and all the advice he gave were leading towards those two goals.  And they are goals I am still working on today!  In this lessons, my "ah" vowels were very flat.  Words that he used to try to fix this were:
- Just open your mouth
- Expand in the upper range
- "ah" should feel like biting on a huge thing...
- OPEN UP
- direct vowels back and up
- thread the sound through the uvula
- vowels go forward, and the color comes from opening up in the back.

In trying to create more line, here are some words he and Cindy used to try to help:
- it's like a constant river
- It's not three notes, it's just a big thing
- Always sing all the notes
- the black notes deserve as much vibrato as the white notes
- sustain legato energy

This lesson was particularly interesting to listen to because of all the ways they tried to explain simple concepts.  Very good material for future teaching.
