Cindy couldn't phonate during my lesson which made it very
interesting! But no less helpful. One of the best things about it is
that I now have everything Cindy communicated to me written down! It
makes a lesson summary much easier. We did some new warm ups.
-humming lightly while chewing.
-descending arpeggio on [u] and in [a] and then reascending to [u].
-speaking [wa wa wa] followed by a downward arpeggio ending in speech like [wa].
-[i e i e i] on ascending and descending five note pattern.
Then
we sang "El Pano Moreno" which went pretty bad my first time through.
Cindy told me to stand like a sexy Spanish woman and I cannot even tell
you how much that changed the sound! The difference was incredible! I
loved the way the song went after that. She also said my articulators
were much less entangled! WOOT!
After that I sang "Ah! Love But a
Day." Cindy told me to keep standing like a Spanish woman even thought
the characters are completely different cuz the sound was so much
different. (I guess my days of singing like a 21 year old American are
over. Thank God. Who wants to see that?) This piece is still have some
trouble. As I tried to use downward expansive physical motions with it
the sound became more full and connected but still has a way to go. We
shall see!
