Laura B VRH 11/21

Laura B
Ben Shaw: Nice job with the expression on the first section of the song. I liked your focus. Also, I thought you had a good balance on the word "lived" and didn't overdo it. I felt like there was some balance issues between register 2 and 3. Also, your body looked pretty stiff and your head with move up and down with some of the notes. Overall, I think that you did a decent job and you're on the track. You have such a beautiful and mature tone in your voice.
Bric Slade: Great expression! It made the piece so fun to watch and listen to, and I feel like it put more confidence in your performance and tone. Nice job on the higher notes as well. They didn't sound pushed at all. Be careful with your breaths. They at times sounded very bucket-like. Overall, you did a great job, even with the memory set backs. This is the best I have heard you sing.
Brad Summers: I can tell that you have been working on your swaying, because it was hardly apparent in your performance. You seemed very steady and founded. Your performance was beautiful and I felt like your expression was authentic and sincere, especially in the aria part. I also felt like you seemed very free and relaxed. I would suggest making your steps forward seem more intentional. Sometimes, it seemed like you were forcing your jaw down. Overall, I think this definitely one of my favorite performances I've seen you do.
