Sam Meredith VRH 11/21

Jackson Simmons-There was too much shoulder action in the breath. Improving the posture and making it more open would help fix this problem. The intonation was a little flat at times and the timbre needs to be a little darker. He needs more free-flowing air. When there was vibrato it seemed forced and trembly. The diction was alright, but he needs to work on his 'r'. The expression of the piece was really good, though.
Bric Slade-There were some tense breaths in this performance, but the intonation and timbre were a lot better this time that in his last performance. The high notes didn't seem to be pushed out and there wasn't as much tension in his neck or jaw. The diction was good, although the words need to be memorized more completely. I really liked the expression of the piece, though. That's a big strength of his.
