Kaylee Ann Simmons-I noticed a little bit of shoulder movement during Kaylee's performance. I think the shoulder breaths had an effect on the timbre of the higher notes. The timbre at those times just seemed to be a little tense. The intonation was good, though. The diction was fine, but could be a little clearer. I thought the expressiveness was good, but I think it does need a little be more.
Brooke Myers-There was a lot of movement in the sternum for breath during this performance. There was also some tension in the jaw and neck that led to a timbre that was slightly pinched at times. The intonation was pretty good, though. I think the diction needs a little work. She was spending way too much time on 'l' in words like 'wall'. I think she could do more to be more expressive. She also needs to keep working on getting the tension out of the jaw through speaking the text with a relaxed jaw liked Cindy showed her.
Bric Slade-There were some shoulder breaths in this performance. I also noticed some tension in the neck, jaw, and possibly in the tongue. The timbre seems a little closed at times. I think the tension was also affecting the intonation. The diction was good, but I think there needs to be more consistent vowel definition. I think doing some of the exercises that Cindy suggested would help him.
Sarah Boucher-In didn't notice any problems with breathing. The intonation was all there. The timbre, however, seemed a little too dark. It just needs to have more of a speech-like quality to it. She just needs to speak the text more like Cindy suggested. When she sang directly after doing that the tone brightened up and it was a more entertaining performance.
