Mariah OB 11
Chapter Summary: To start each day, a singer should release his or her body of tension and be aware of body alignment and breathing. We need to be patient in our progress and not try to force our voices to be more than they are. It's not about competition with others but competition with yourself to reach your full potential. Often we need to turn our songs into vocalizes so that we can explore them with our voices in new ways. Visualization needs to be a big part of a singer's practice. We need to think and let and constantly have an internal model to help us progress forward.
Key Concepts: Singers need to be patient with their voices and strive for their own individual potential. Practicing should involve small steps toward improvement and frequent visualization.
Key Terms:
Making Connections: I need to be more aware of my whole body before and while I sing. I need to remember to relax and rid myself of any tension throughout the day and my practicing. I also need to visualize more and not compare myself to others but to my own singing in the past.
