Taylee Partner Practice 10/28/2013

For today's practice we each sang two songs and then let each other comment on our performance. I sang "D'une Prison" by Hahn first. One of the things she noticed, was that my onsets were disconnected with the rest of the phrase. Particularly on the first note of the piece, the timbre and energy weren't consistent with the rest of the first phrase. (Its a higher note to start on, so that makes it all the more difficult). My second piece was "Offrande" also by Hahn, and she commented that I was singing it too carefully. I think once I feel like the song is more internalized (it's my most recently memorized song), I will be able to connect with it on a more honest level and not be so worried about the notes and rhythms.
