Emily Cottam- This was a very nice performance and your expression was very good but I agreed with Cindy that you need to pin your hair back so we can see your face and you need to have a little hope in your singing. The second time though was much more convincing and moving. When Cindy had you sing with exaggeratedly open mouth your sound came out so much more. It sounded so much better. Instead of holding the sound within you, don't be afraid to let it "flow out in all directions."
Hannah Lovato- This aria is soooo hard and you did it SOOO well! You kept the energy up almost consistently throughout (which is the hardest part) and in the few places where you were under-energized the pitch was a little under. This was all fixed after Cindy worked with you in establishing goals for your singing and directing your body to meet those goals. You sounded really great!
Caitlyn Craig- Wow, Caitlyn! Today I heard the part of your voice I've been just waiting to hear. Your voice loses it's airiness and become more full and mature when you tell your larynx to "stay down!" It appears a lot easier for you to reach the high notes that way AND your air is used more efficiently which gives more direction to the phrase. So good when you keep your larynx down!
