Sarah Boucher Kathy SUPERVISED Lesson Record/Reaction 4/22

REACTION:
Getting Cindy's feedback on Kathy's voice was very beneficial for me. I knew that Kathy had some problems with her posture but I have never been able to put a finger on exactly what was wrong. We talked about it a few times in lessons and I thought most of her problems were because of her A-O Joint, but today I realized how nothing was really right in her posture. Cindy pointed out that her knees were locked, her hips were forward and her chest was back. I was grateful that Cindy stepped in to demonstrate to her where her posture should be.  Her ribs in relation to her hips were a huge thing. It was helpful to have her monitor those with her fingers. Now that she is aware of it she can more adequately monitor it. I liked how Cindy explained opening up the chest to her, particularly her example of Superman and how he takes off from the chest and assuming his posture. This really helped Kathy to think of her posture in a more springy upright way. We only had a bit of time to work on her song, but I was amazed at how much more free her timbre was when she was more focused on her posture! It was a nice change, and the answer to the questions I have been having about her voice! It was hard for her to maintain the posture for long so Cindy suggested doing rib raisers 3 times a day when she is not doing something to build up her strength there. This lesson just reminded me of how important it is to stress posture! I can and should be more focused on this cause it is very important!
