LaeKin Burgess Austin Lesson Plan #5 for 4/22
Last week Austin got into a good place for singing. We found out how to keep energy flowing while remaining released in the neck, jaw and pharynx. We found that while he was running in place and singing so this week my short term goal will be to be able to maintain that energy and release without funny movement. Of course, this might take time but I want to introduce the concept at least. We'll start out with some easy descending 54321 on "uh"just to warm up. Then we'll do lip buzzes and aim for a low breath and an easy floating feeling. Then we'll move to zah 54321 and try to keep the same release we hopefully will feel with the lip buzzes. then well do some random beeps everywhere and anywhere he wants, without any piano. Then plop plop plop on 531 aiming for flexibility. I want to do 87654321 descending then ascending then descending again. With this exercise I'm aiming for something different for each note avoiding static adjustment. After all of these exercises I think we can start on his song. We'll aim for energy and good low, no panic breath. If we need to run in place like last time we will but then we'll go back to standing still and try to keep the same energy.
