Caitlin Craig Stephanie J. Lesson Plan for 4/21/14

Student: Stephanie J.
Date: 4/16/14

Short-term goals: Feel comfortable to explore and feel free to be creative with her voice.
Long-term goals: Not caring so much and manipulating the sound, and  Think-let-trust, freeing vibrato, so that it doesn't sound so pressed.

Plan of Action: I want to really focus on having her let go and not care about what comes out  while phonating. I will try to highlight this in both the warm-ups, instruction, and song-work.

1. heart to heart about not caring. We are a tube. Our vf's are the size of the nail on our pinky finger. In singing we don't need any muscular help. Since the muscles in our body that are responsible for singing are so small, we don't need to feel the sensation of large muscular contraction while singing. When you are speaking you don't feel any big muscles in your throat contracting or helping.

2. sighs and yawns
3. slow silent breath of surprise
4. Wobble exercise 53515351 feeling buoyant and every time we return to 5 have it be lighter than the bottom note
5. "So" 8-5-3 "what!" -1
