Ben Shaw practice partner AAR

Practice held with Sarah Gee on Thursday, September 26th.
In this partnered practice, Sarah and I first did some vocalizes. This warmed us both up and taught each other some useful exercises. In this, I was one-upped; Sarah came already warmed-up and ready to go. After we did some of this, we decided to make the session into a masterclass-like environment. This helped us by practicing noticing the other's room for improvement, sharing this with them, and improving as someone else helped you noticed what you needed to improve on. Sarah helped me with phrasing. Where this is easy to notice in music that I listen to, Sarah helped me to do it in my own music. This has helped me with my overall goal of becoming more expressive in my performances. I helped her with a malisma as best I could, and I think it helped because she got better at it. We also discussed ways of practicing it.
