LaeKin Burgess TNV Chapter 14 Summary

Summary: If we are giving ourselves conditions for our happiness we will most likely be disappointed. If we base our success on a specific outcome we are not likely to be very happy people. If we aren't enjoying the journey we aren't likely to enjoy the outcome.  We must be careful in how we define success and be sure to find joy in the journey. We can get stuck by holding on to what made us special and unique in the first place and this will stunt our growth and progress. We must be willing to constantly re-invent our ideas, be spontaneous and find our naked voice.

Key Concept: Find your naked voice. Following your dreams and finding joy in the journey will define your true success.

Key Terms: Success

Connections: For a long time I defined my success as a singer by what solos I got and what parts I got in shows (In high school it wasn't hard to feel awesome based on these terms) but then as time wore on I had to re-define my idea of success on a personal level and I was able to find joy in my own journey. I still have to remind myself from time to time about the progress I've already made in order to allow myself to see the successes I have already achieved.
