Amber VRH Summary 11-21

Amber VRH summary 11-21

Ben
Much more forward that before. A little too far forward at first, but then he settled in. He is much more consistent lately. Still stands like a little cadet, but much MUCH better and not quite so stiff (we'll blame his ROTC days for that). I really liked how much more released the upper notes seemed. Ranges seem much better blended.

This is a darn hard piece to do, but I think a good one for someone setting out for a coloratura challenge. At this stage you have two options. One is: finding a good place in the middle or first or last third of the runs to catch a breath. The other is: making a tone on a schwa in a speaking level...like just speakign through it and hold out the tome while playing the melisma line. You will be surprised at how much breath you have left over. Then take that feeling and plug it in with the notes. That same sort of spaking it simply thing is what you're going for, only you're just going uuuuummm...like you're about to make a decision and making it last as long as the line, then doing it on notes.
This is going to sound really cool with that round resonant voice.
