What is power? You do not need a big voice to fill the opera house. Every singer needs to learn how to develop the carrying quality of the voice. It takes a. Lot of time and practice in order to develop the potential for the many things that a larynx has to do. Carrying quality can be deceptive, we have to trust that the sound we are making has enough intensity, it can't be forced. Resonance, the bigger the resonated, the more resonance or "power" you get. Folds will move into position automatically when we just think it or feel an emotion. We should not try to force more power, the voice will be what it is with natural resonance.
Key concept: power is not really power. It is the voice being free and having a natural resonance that carries to the end of the hall.

Key idea: trying to sing more powerfully is something that I am guilty of for sure. I know that I need to work on freeing the voice so that my natural resonance will carry my sound. Not me pushing, or being more powerful.
