For us to be able to understand our range, timbre, we might have to wait a little longer than we would like for our voices to develop. With time, our ranges can grow larger and with certain skill sets that we acquire we could be "classified" as many different types of singers or categorized into different fachs. But we shouldn't limit our voice to what "fach" others label us as. It can be detrimental to our vocal health and careers if we sing a certain way only because someone thinks we are a certain voice type.
Key concept: your voice will change and grow throughout time. Let it happen and be patient.
Connection. The idea of my voice taking a long time to mature is something that I was once impatient and annoyed with. But now I have learned to be more patient, especially with a tenor voice which can be so inconsistent and fickle. I know with time it will develop and mature into something better in the future.... If I work had at it of course.
