Taylee - Lesson Summary 10/04

This week I remember being VERY stressed. My lesson was on Friday, and I had a ton of homework due the next week on Monday and Tuesday. With me not working this semester that normally wouldn't be an issue, but my family was going out of town to be together for the LDS General Conference, and I was very frustrated that I felt I wouldn't get a lot of time with them because I would be off in some corner studying. As I went into my lesson that day, all I wanted was to sing for the sake of loving to sing. There was a weird mixture of release and tension in my body. During warm-ups I very easily found a good forward resonance, but the tension from the week was creeping into my jaw and tongue. We addressed the tension by changing my "see" on a 5,4,3,2,1 to a "thee". Brianna also noticed that I was over-opening my throat causing a staticy sound, probably in an attempt to feel the openness. She suggested I think of a tug in the breath and not in my throat. That seemed to help a lot.

This week I worked on my French songs, and I also recorded my first video. As you saw in video, I was trying really hard to get some release in my body with a lot of swaying and bouncy movements to feel the dump sensation in my body.
