I somehow got really behind on my lesson summaries. The worst part of this it that it's really a simple assignment, and yet I kept putting it off. Luckily I have them all recorded. As I'm writing these forgive me if I switch tenses within the post.
I had this lesson the same week that Thomas was here. To start my lesson with Brianna, we talked about what I had worked on with Thomas. Turns out the things he told me to do were the exact same thing that Brianna had been trying to tell me, but the way he had worded it seemed to click better in my mind. He worked on getting me to be more speech like and to allow my vowels to be more free (in other words tongue tension). In our vocalizes we worked on continuing with those two things. Other things that we worked on were: allowing the larynx to stay in a lower position, and my "crazy eyes" which I tend to do when I'm thinking too much in my singing. My sound seemed generally relaxed and forward. Side note, I was speaking in a higher range after my vocalizes. I think this was the first lesson that I had an accompanist.
New vocalizes: It isn't really new but we added another vowel to it. 8,5,3,1 on "thah" (the new one) as well as the original vowels "thee" and "thae".
