Chapter Summary: The mind and the body are very closely connected. As singers, we can not do our job if our body in full of tension. It is important to recognize the tension and know how to release it. We can not sing freely if our bodies are not free. We should also be conscious of any tension we feel when speaking because that directly relates to our singing.

Making Connections: I can't wait to try some of these exercises out. My body is always tense and in turn my singing is tense as well. It often takes me a long time to get my body to release tension and I think that these exercises will help me relax faster.
