Sam Meredith Partner Practice 11/6
Caitlin helped me come up with some good ideas for ornamentation in my baroque piece today. We went through the music and looked at some places where there was potential for ornamentation. I already had a couple of things in mind, so I ran my ideas by her and received some of her feedback. She had some really good suggestions. She especially had some great input for me for a cadenza at the very end of the piece that I think will sound very nice. For her portion of the practice I did my best to help her find more release in her jaw. We went through 'die bokehrte' and tried a few different things to get her to loosen up. I don't know how helpful I was. I had her try laying down on the floor, but that didn't seem to work. Instead I had her stand on her head a la Eloise Ristad. That seemed to help a little, but she still said that she was feeling some tension there. She still has some work to do there, but hopefully I at least gave her some good ideas.
