Chapter Summary: The state our body is in directly relates to the freedom of our singing. When our body is tense, our singing will be tense. Also, when our mind is worried about something it affects our body and causes us to tense up. This is why it is so important to do relaxation exercises and meditation. Once we release our body of tension and relax our minds as well, our voice will be more free. Singers need to think and let. The harder they try to force something to happen with their voice, the more the voice will not want to cooperate.

Making Connections: I need to check my body for tension more often and try to release it. I've never really thought about how a back or neck ache could directly affect my singing. Also, I need to stop stressing over things especially during practice because this leads to my body and voice tensing up.
