Mariah Lesson Summary 10/31
I had my memory check today and it didn't go quite as well as I was hoping. Singing through my songs went pretty well. I had some trouble with my entrances on "This Little Rose" but I've gone over it since then and I think I've got it down a lot better. For "Music for a While," I messed up a couple of the rhythms a little bit so I need to go over that. Plus for that one I need to work on the intonation. I keep going flat on one specific note and in voice recital hour the pitch for the whole song went all over the place and that's never happened before. So I need to review that one, but I do at least have all of the words memorized for it. I had "D'un Genio," "Traume," and "The Last Rose of Summer" memorized really well. For "Clair de Lune," I think I had all of it memorized but I was a little hesitant on some phrases. My recitation of the literal translation was awful. I had it down before but it had been a while since I'd gone over it. The rest of my recitations weren't quite as bad but I need to go over them all again.
