Laura B VRH 11/14

Laura B
Sam Meredith: Very nice low breaths in the body. Beautiful and resonant high note! He just looked very relaxed throughout the whole performance throughout his whole body. I wasn't sure  what he was trying to express through the song and what his intention was. Overall, I've loved hearing him improve through every performance.
Brooke Meyers: Great relaxed stance throughout the body. I also loved her brilliant high notes. There were times when her onset of the notes didn't have vibrato and it would come in later through the pitch. She needs to make sure that it's there right at the beginning. Try the spontaneous combustion exercise. There seemed to be some entanglement in the jaw. It seemed really tense, especially through the middle-range. I feel like she has overall made a lot of improvement through the semester and her sound was very resonant and wonderful to listen to.
Sara Low: She makes singing high notes look and sound so easy. She has generally very released jaw and good airflow. She needs to work on keeping the connection she has in the higher range in the lower range of her voice. She tends to let go of her support when she sings in the low range.
Amanda Skousen: She did a great job staying on the core of her voice throughout the middle-range. It tended to pull back when she would go. She used pretty good breath support throughout the body. It seemed like her jaw was moving too much and it could have been getting in the way of greater freedom.
Sarah Breenay: Sarah, I love how you are keeping your voice in it's core. You kept it really relaxed and resonant. Beautiful job!
