Chapter Summary: We sing with our whole bodies. If any part of our body is experiencing tension, it effects the way that we sing. Everything in our bodies are interconnected. The best thing that we can do is to get out of our own way and release. Brown gives several basic yet important exercises that can help us to release our whole body. Along with a relaxed body, we also need to have a relaxed mind. The thoughts that we have greatly influence what is going in the body. Exercises such as meditation can be very helpful in helping our bodies to release.

Making Connections: Being a student can be very stressful at times, which in turn causes a lot of tension in the body. Because of point I am in my life right now as a student, applying the exercises suggested on a daily basis is critical to allow my body to release. I need to be much better at releasing my body before starting my day.
