Bric Slade Lesson 11/7/13

Today in my lesson we started with my song Autumn. I sang through it pretty well and I feel I had a lot more expression that I brought to it through my practice. There is some rhythms I am not getting down but for the most part I feel I do that song really well. We mostly worked on Frulingsnacht by Shumann. She had me chunk practice the song quite a bit. First she had me speak the text quite a bit to get a handle on what it was I was trying to say. After I had a clear picture in my head it was a piece of cake. I am beginning to really let things happen and free up my air. I find that when I have a clear picture in my head I am able to do this easier. That's why I picked the songs I did for this semester because they give me a clear picture of what is going on. We moved on to Fischerwiese and she had me do the same thing. There is some places where I am losing energy in that song and she had me sing it in different positions to get my core working. Then we practiced saying the text in English and then in german until I got a clear picture in my head.
