Sarah Gee and I had our first partner practice together this week. She worked on memorizing the words for one of her songs for German diction for a while. I would follow along and helped her when she missed a word. The next day, I sang "This Little Rose" and she helped me to find a better placement for my vowels. They tended to be either musical theatre sounding or very dark. She had me speak the word "thee" and try to have that same placement when I sang. She also talked about how to have space on the lower notes and then I don't have to change the space for when I go higher. We moved on to one of her songs for music history. It had some really tricky rhythm, so we worked a lot on that. We tried going slower and then speeding up. Then I would play through it quickly while she sang. We went over the words and tried to add them in. We also tried to add movement but there was still some difficulty with the rhythm on that phrase so we moved on to a different phrase after a while to take a break from it.
