Jaron Putnam Lesson Summary November 5th

WOW. What a great day for lessons. I sang the best F# and G that I have ever sung in my whole life... It had everything to do with NOT ENGAGING MUSCLES that I have engaged my whole life as I have sung higher in my voice. I tighten my throat, or tighten my nasal pharynx space. We worked on the invention that involves sighing and then singing a 5 note scale down on "ooo." The sensation that I felt for the first time in my life was complete openness and freedom in every note I sang. The ridiculous apart is tat it all felt soo easy. This was a huge discovery. What I have been working on since then in practice is to recreate this feeling. It hasn't been easy, but I feel like I am getting there. The two big sensations I think that I need to work on are: feeling grounded with my diaphragm, and keeping space open above my molars. It was a great lesson.
