Jake DYV chapter 2

Learning to manage airflow correctly is crucial to healthy singing. Some people have a lot of singing issues because of the way they speak, and the way they use their air has a lot to do with these problems. Relaxing your muscles and relaxing your mind will send the same message of relaxation to your voice and it's accompanying muscles. Tension in one point in your body can have a negative effect on your voice, though we may not realize it. "Your voice can't be free in singing if it ain't free in speaking. "
Key terms: hyper function. Mind body connection.
Key point: freedom in speech brings freedom in singing
Connection: I need to find out if I generally speak with stress/tension. I know I'm bad at sporting events and things like that.. Hopefully I can find out if I am free of tension when speaking so I can also be free in singing.
