Ben Shaw 11/15 lesson summary

Today's lesson was good. I think I did a pretty good job on my homework from last week; not perfect, but pretty good. Exciting start; and now for the story. I got there and Laurie had just locked herself out of the studio. She felt really bad; she was really apologetic. It wasn't a big deal, though; we called campus police and got it unlocked just a few minutes later. They responded sooner than we anticipated, which was nice. I guess when you're as bored and have as little to do as the USU police, you can respond faster. But I digress...

I have to say: Laurie and I make a great teacher/student team. It's not that I've disliked any previous voice teachers; her instructions are just really clear to me and easy to follow. Now, with only one lesson remaining, I really have her to thank for what I think has been, in terms of vocal development, a really successful semester. For this lesson, we went through my jury pieces, polishing things up, mostly; after spending a bit of time on "Roadside fire." We've also made the determination to split the last lesson into two half-lessons; It's really all about polishing and attentiveness to smaller details now.
