Taylee. Summary: Our problems, although challenging, are still ours and that familiarity can cause us to cling to them. We realize that solving our current predicament only enables us to encounter a new one, and the unknown is rather overwhelming. Taking time to reflect on our current state can really help us to identify the true source of our discomfort. After that, we must decide if that familiar and static or unfamiliar and growth is more important.
Key Concepts: what does your problem do for you?
Key Terms: ...?
Making Connections: I always thought that one quote by Marianne Williamson was kinda bogus. "Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure..." But the more I sit and think about it, the more I realize that I really am more afraid of being vulnerable. Changing to a new problem means that I will have had to change. As I approach my practicing, I should start asking myself, "Do I want to be better, or do I want to be safe?"
