Sarah Gee ER Ch 11

This chapter talks about how thinking and trying to do the opposite of the desired outcome can sometimes get you closer to the desired that if you were to hound yourself to do it the right way.
This is shown in a couple different examples. First in the story of Cecily the over worked mother/wife/masters student/singer/artist feeling overwhelmed and inadequate. They discovered as she talked through things with herself she found that she needed to allow herself relax and act like a child. This freed her and gave her the ability to do what she needed to. The second example was of Anne who was in a play and when she was asked to do her scene as melodramatically as possible she learned that she could do the scene with much more feeling because she wasn't holding back anything but allowing herself to truly express the feeling of the piece.
Key Concepts:
Don't hold back in order to get desired result, give more concentrated energy.
Key Words:
Beekeeper
Child
Super person
Connections:
I feel like I am inadequate a lot and thus I hold back from doing what I know I can do for fear of doing it wrong, which funny enough is the cause of my doing it wrong when If I just allowed myself to do it it would be a lot better. So concentrating on allowing myself to do things rather than making myself do them will help me a lot in becoming more confident in sharing what I know.
