Shalayna SOHH 16

Chapter Summary: We should try to teach our students to find their own wisdom. Allow the students to acknowledge their own efforts and success rather than doing it for the teacher. Use will power to explore the unfamiliar, which does take time and patience. It is ok to be vulnerable to scary. We need to teach our students to open their eyes to what they want to change and to look closer at the issues. “The flip side of an ending is a new beginning; the flip side of a solution is the recognition of the next problem (p.199).” Having your own path to success is ok because it gives us a position of freedom.
Key Concept: Learn what works for the student. Help students find their own path to achieving their goals by guiding them to strengthening their will power.
Key Term: Experimentation

Connection: End of the book!!! I loved how this chapter ended in a realistic way. I am in encouraged in finding news ways that work for me to become a better musician.
