Sarah Boucher ER Chapter 15 Summary
Chapter Summary: Improvisation is a natural part of our daily lives. If we can insert improvisation into our practice, we can discover things about the music that we would not have found through rigid practice. Improvisation can free us from the boundaries we set for ourselves and help us progress.
Key Points:
-Improvisation can help us develop a stronger relationship with our instrument
-The spontaneity of improv sparks discovery
Making Connections: I just need to be brave and try weird things. I need to remember that in my practice it doesn't hurt me at all to break out of the norm and do something random. It will either help or not! I need to improvise my practicing, thinking of new things to help me solve my problems.
