Sarah Boucher ER Chapter 13 Summary

Sarah Boucher ER Chapter 13 Summary
Chapter Summary: Everyone experiences "stage fright" in different ways. There are many ways to approach these nerves to turn them into a help and not a hinderance. Ristad's suggestions include: letting the symptoms go as far as they can, permitting yourself to feel the systems, pretending you are someone else and turning the fear into excitement.
Key Points:
-You can't expect to be unprepared and not get nervous.
-Excitement and fear come from the same Adrenalin.
-When you try to be scared, you become less so.
Making Connections: Today in Recital Hour, we talked about why we have it. The main point of this "torture" is to get us used to performing and how are body acts when we are nervous. It helped me so much to think of VRH as a chance to figure out how my body reacts to nerves so that I will be able to figure out how to fix them. I really want to focus on turning my nerves into excitement the next time I perform.
