Sarah Boucher ER Chapter 12 Summary
Chapter Summary: Problems can be addictive and hard to let go of. We tend to hide behind our problems because we are scared of the world beyond our problems. As performers, we need to make an active choice to face our problems instead of passively letting them rule us. They aren't easy to get rid of but the first step is to let them go.
Key Points:
-We need to chose to let go of our problems.
-"What does my problem by for me?"
Key Terms:
Making Connections: This chapter made me examine my own problems with my voice. I thought that is was absurd that anyone would want to hold on to their problems, and then I realized that I do that all the time! I have decided that rather than let problems make me fed up in practice that I will make a conscious decision to face them. It may make me feel more exposed when I move past my problems, but the new exploration ahead will be worth it!
