Emily Floyd- Emily looked very relaxed in her performance today and I think that showed with the breathing. It all seemed very relaxed. I think the intonation was mostly good, but I think it was a little shaky on notes of shorter duration. The timbre was also a little coarse in her upper range. I thought the diction was good, though. I liked the emphasis on the consonants. I also think that she did a good job with expression in this performance.
Alex Barlow-The breathing here was mostly good, but there were a couple of breaths that were audible from where I was sitting. She had great intonation and timbre. It was very consistent and effortless. I think I could use a little more expressiveness from her in this particular piece. The diction was mostly good, but there were a couple of things I noticed that could improve. First I think that her closed 'e' vowel could be a little bit more closed. Also, she forgot to make the 'g' in the word 'fragst' unvoiced. Overall, a wonderful performance, though.
Hannah Lovato- Hannah's breathing was mostly good throughout the performance. There was one breath I noticed, however that snuck up into the shoulders. She had great intonation and a full, vibrant timbre to her voice. I think that she had pretty good diction. The vowels were great, but I think I would make the consonants just a little more important just so the words are more easily discerned. I thought she also did a good job conveying the emotion of the piece, so overall a good performance.
Aubrey Robbins- I did notice a couple of shoulder breaths in Aubrey's performance. I think there was just a little bit of tension in her body that may have contributed to that. I thought the sound of the performance was great, though. She had good intonation and a nice, bubbly timbre. The expression in the piece was excellent. Diction was fine, but I did notice that a few of the dipthongs she sang were a little too american sounding.
