Mariah 10/24
I missed the first few singers because of my voice lesson, but here are the rest.
Amanda Skousen: Amanda has great line but lost the free-flowing air on the word "rejoice." Her vowels were not as refined as they could be, particular i vowels where her jaw was not dropped. She could also have more projection in her voice.
Laura Wride: Her simply speaking simply was great. Her diction was very clear. She had free-flowing air through her lower range but perhaps it wasn't flowing enough throughout to sustain the higher pitches quite as well. The sound was fine, but not as strong as it could be. Her line and phrasing were also well done.
Emily Cottam: Her simply speaking simply was good but she could drop her jaw more. Her line was nice and fluid.
Brad Summers: His breath was almost free, but at the ends of phrases he tended to force the air out. He had good projection and was simply speaking simply expect for a few words that were entangled.
Bric Slade: Bric started out not simply speaking simply but he got much better as he went along. His projection was pretty good, but he could produce a bigger sound. His line was good in some parts but then in others his air was not free-flowing.
Luke Shepherd: Luke could use more simply speaking simply. His projection was a little soft and his vowels were not refined. On the i vowels and the word "la" in particular, he had a spread mouth. His line while singing was good.
Jaron Putnam: Jaron looked as if he was forcing his jaw down at the beginning. After a while he stopped forcing it down but it was not dropped. He seemed to have some tongue tension; it appeared as if the tongue was bulging some on his lower notes. His i vowels were almost refined but not quite there. He had free-flowing air except on his consonants where he seemed to be forcing more air out.
Caitlin Craig: Caitlin had nice line and free air but it could be more flowing. She could project more and continue to refine her vowels even further.
Taylee Bekstead: Taylee had a very nice, clear tone which showed that she had free-flowing air. Her simply speaking simply was good as well.
Sam Meredith: Sam could have more free-flowing air. His neck was very tense, possibly because of the lack of air. His projection was good but forced. His simply speaking simply was good but his jaw was a little tense.
