Elizabeth and Sarah group practice 10.17.13

This practice was focused more on Sarah.  We tried a lot of different methods to get her sound out of her body (if that makes sense.)  Nothing really seem to work for her, but was really revealing about the session is what she later told me.  Sarah is so great, because she always honest with me:  she told me that when I was taking on the voice teacher role, I was too intense and discouraging.  I didn't give compliments that were really compliments, and my face was uninviting.  I was very surprised when she told me these things, because my attitude on the inside was "I just really want to help her and figure out fast what we can do to make her singing better."  My good intentions sometimes don't translate into something that is encouraging and welcoming to the student.  I'm so grateful to be aware of that now.
