Bric Slade SOHH Chpt. 6

Bric Slade SOHH Chpt. 6

If you want to learn something you first need to figure out how you learn. I have seen so much in public school and even here in college, in general classes we need to take how all students want to learn is what is on the test. Then they cram information against their learning process just so they can get a good score. When the test is done, it takes about a day and they've forgotten everything and moved on to the next thing. Its a horrible process of engorging ourselves with information just so we can vomit it back up onto paper. But none of it is helping us. Everyone has genius even us ourselves. There is so much more to teaching than teaching others according to their understanding. We also need to understand how we ourselves think and learn.

Key Terms:

Key Concepts: In order to learn something permanently you need to understand how you learn.

Connections: I can memorize anything I want to but does it mean that I will learn it? Of course not, I need to be able to make it a part of me, and the only way to do that is to relate it to myself. Figuring out how I best learn things can bring me one step closer to doing this.
