A lot of what determines whether a student is going to grow up to be a master is the motivation they receive from teachers and mentors around them. When a student doesn't get something, most of the time it isn't because they're stupid, or lazy, or stubborn. We as teachers need to have the default of going back and modifying our teaching approach if they don't get it. Pointing out their problems doesn't fix anything. Pointing out problems and then instructing on improvement is our job. When students are told they are lazy, they almost take it as an excuse and it doesn't motivate them to be better. Now as for being stupid, no one is stupid. The teacher is a guide in a forest of knowledge, directing the student to discovering their true genius. Everyone has genius. Leonardo Di Vinci knew his genius came from hard work and he wasn't born with it. The key to true wisdom is developing the ability to draw out the genius of people.
Key Concepts: Genius is in everyone, its not extraordinary. Wisdom is the ability to find the genius in everyone, including yourself.
Connections: I can teach anyone anything. I Just need to find out how they think. If I can do this, half the battle is won.
