Taylee-VRH: what does the singer need more of? 10/24/13

Elizabeth Tait: Free flowing air - She had a great ping to her voice, but I felt like the bottom half of body wasn't involved enough in her singing.
Ben Shaw: Free flowing air - He seemed to waste a lot of air in his onset. Breath didn't seem like a rest moment but more work.
Kaylee Ann Simmons: Simply speaking simply - when she announced the piece, it was more natural and had a good resonant quality. Once she sang though she switched mindsets about how to phonate.
Mandie Skousen: Simply speaking simply- she had a good speech in her low-low range, but it wasn't present in her mid or upper range. Her voice didn't resonate as much/sound as full.
Laura Wride: Free flowing air - the song was in a lower range so she kept a good speech like quality, but she was punching her breath.
Emily Cottam: Simply speaking simply - the sound seemed to catch at the back of her mouth. There were times when it started to come more forward, but it was mostly in the back.
Brad Summers: Free flowing air - body was rigid (the frame), he did loosen up as he went along though, which freed the air as well as helped both the audience and himself enjoy the moment more.
Bric Slade: Simply speaking simply - I wasn't sure until he approached his high notes. higher range lost the fuller sound.
Luke Shepherd: Free flowing air - gaspy breaths. Also his sternum didn't always stay elevated. Both of those things suggested tightening in the body.
Jaron Putnam: Free flowing air - his rib cage seemed to constrict a lot at beginnings and ends of phrases.
Caitlin Craig: Simply speaking simply - she lost a lot of resonance between the time of announcing the piece and actually singing.
Me! - I think I needed more free flowing air. Mostly because I felt A LOT of tension in my back, and didn't get the deep "huh" sensation in my body.
Sam Merideth: Simply speaking simply - his song seemed a little choppy, in that it didn't seem to have a direction, sense of linear movement.
