Taylee-partner practice 10/14

Memory work. That's the theme of our semesters. Both Emily and I are disappointed that all the cool things we're learning technique-wise in class, isn't easily applied because we are trying to solidify our MANY songs. (I realize that I will be grateful for the amount when I'm getting my Senior recital ready.) However, I am enjoying the results I'm getting in my memory practice after using the techniques we've learned in that area. So this week we used our partner practice time to have some "first attempts" and to make plans for our recital. We also talked about how we're not really fans of the partner practice. If we weren't in recital mode, it could be helpful, but we see it as just another thing we have to do. I don't mean any offense by saying that though. But we'll keep at it if we need to. Perhaps I could be getting more out of it than I am, so I'll keep looking for the good.
