Taylee Lesson Summary 10/11/13
Well, due to my recital this semester, my memory check was a week earlier than the rest of Brianna's students. So, the vast majority of my lesson was passing of memory. We did start it off with a few vocalizes so as to make sure I was in a healthy place to sing all of my stuff. I felt pretty good about my preparedness. I'm especially grateful now that I had already passed off some things earlier, because although they were still memorized, it's really hard to do so much all at once, especially under pressure of a due date. There were a few songs, however, that I didn't have at all, and I was completely honest about them. Brianna, though, had forgotten it was my memory check. Since she'd forgotten, she didn't really care if I had everything ready for that day. So we agreed that I would do what I had prepared, and just finish the rest next week, when everyone else was doing their memory checks. What I had prepared was very well prepared, so even though everything I had that day was solid, it still took the whole lesson (minus the time of vocalizes) to pass them off, so it didn't end up mattering that I didn't have everything ready. (Sorry for the run-on sentence...)
