SOHH Chapter 13 Summary Jaron Putnam

SOHH Chapter 13 Summary:

Performing can be one of the most nerve wracking experience of a musician. It is important to realize however, that this is something that can help fuel our performance rather than make it worse. This seems to be a typical Louise Ristad mindset- that we need to flip our perspective in order to be successful. Its like the ted talk we watched a few weeks ago about how our body does those things to help us. To increase brain activity and give us the energy to get through the tough experience. We need to use this to our advantage! This might feel awkward at first, but if we can "fake it till we make it" then we will be able to be successful in any performance type setting.

Key Concept: Be brave in performance. Use your nervous energy as source of power to help you perform better!

Key Terms:?

Making Connections: This is a difficult thing for me to do. I psych myself out a lot before performances… I can definitely benefit from the idea of faking confidence until it actually comes.
