Connections:
Growing up I played in orchestra and the teacher would always had us the fingering and bowing that she wanted in every passage that was difficult. She would let us try it on our own first them have us write it in. This was alright but I never felt like I understood why she chose the patterns that she did and what made it better than the way that I came up with and I'd be floundering in the back, switching between the one I came up with, that worked well for me, and the one she'd given.
