We worked on one phrase today. That Phrase was “O, sleep” from “O, sleep, why dost thou leave me?” We were working mostly on rhythm. We separated out each beat by dancing each beat, giving the down beat a clear, distinctly different. After we established the rhythm we added a crescendo and some shape to it. I’ve learned that I need a clearer picture of what I’m doing so I know where to go rhythmically as well as melodically. Like Soprano on Her Head’s internal rehearsal and The Talent Code’s mental map; I need to work on making clearer maps for myself.
